FAQ

Who is the BMW Car Club of the Philippines?

The BMW Car Club of the Philippines, BMWCCP for short, held its first meeting on October 28, 2001.

Since then, the Club, now recognized by and part of the International Council of BMW Clubs, has grown from a small gathering of five BMW enthusiasts to more than 100 members today. The BMWCCP is the only BMW car club in the Philippines recognized by both BMW Philippines and the International Council of BMW Clubs, an umbrella group under BMW AG.

Its mission is to promote interest in motoring, touring activities, and to encourage safe skillful driving classes, with no profit motives. More information regarding the purpose of the BMWCCP can be found in the Club Constitution.

That's because it's meant for members of the BMW Car Club of the Philippines. Only members in good standing are granted access to the Members' Area.

What will I find in the Members' Area of the Club Forum?

Whatever else ...

I've deposited my membership fee and sent my application form. Why can't I access the members' area?
Patience! The club doesn't have employees to man a back office so things like these tend to get sent to the backburner while we attend to our day jobs. But we are constantly in touch with our administrators so as soon as we see the form and payment confirmation, we send an SMS or IM message to the admins to grant access. Usual turnaround time is 1-2 days depending on how busy it can get at our offices (yes, our day jobs). So as soon as you send your form and make a deposit, please send us the documents right away (don't forget to let us know by posting it on the Newbie's Section. We tend to be forgetful sometimes) so we can give you proper access.

What activities does the BMW Car Club of the Philippines engage in?

The mission of the club is to, without profit, promote interest in motoring, touring activities, and to encourage safe skillful driving classes, publications and activities related to motor touring.

In other words, we are a club about BMWs and we enjoy driving our machines. Regular activities include Photo shoots, Fun Runs, Karting, Driving Clinics with professional drivers, Bimmerfest (BMWCCP's very own car show) and informal get-togethers (EBs) where the talk can range from Bimmers to pretty much anything else.

If you love driving your BMW, you'll be right at home here.

Is the club part of BMW Philippines?
No, BMWCCP is a separate entity from BMW Philippines.

I have a question...
And we'll be happy to help! For questions related to joining the BMWCCP, just post it on the Club Forum under the Newbie's Questions section. For technical questions and service advise helps, please post your questions on the Service Advisor section of the Club Forum. We have a separate thread for in-depth discussions on technical questions and issues. Please use the search function first - many questions may have been asked already, and you can find your answers faster and easier by searching the old threads.

What is the history of the Marque?
BMW, the manufacturer, began in Munich in the early years of the Twentieth Century, with motorcycle and aircraft engine production. In the 1920's they bought the Dixi Works, and began their line of cars. By the 1930's they were a world-renowned manufacturer. The end of W.W.II brought hard times and the company suffered throughout the 1950's, despite producing some high-quality V-8's, including the legendary sports convertible. Recovery in the early 1960's grew out of placing their reliable motorcycle engine in a small sedan, the 700, and the sports sedan concept beginning with the 1600/2002. Today, BMW is again recognized as one of the world's finest producers of sports sedans.
