Default Philosophy and Tradition of the BMW Club Organization

Philosophy and Tradition of the BMW Club Organization

The key task:

Representing the brand...
The Clubs play an instrumental role in determining BMW’s image in the eyes of the public. It is therefore crucial that club members set an example as they go about in their cars. This involves keeping vehicles in good condition, cultivating a pleasant manner, and demonstrating fairness
and tolerance behind the wheel.

The activities of the Clubs embody characteristic BMW values as laid down in the BMW Club Charter:
Dynamism – as reflected in approach, competitiveness and sportsmanship;
Innovation – as reflected in vision, creativity and tradition;
Aesthetics – as reflected in style, design and functionality.

Through the Clubs.
The primary aim of the events organized by the BMW Clubs is to teach drivers better control of
their cars. The pleasures of motoring, after all, only begin once one has mastered the ability to
drive in traffic in a safe, controlled and considerate manner.

Club activities include:
Slalom practice,
Skills tests and regularity rallies,
Driver training on track,
Theoretical education in vehicle dynamics.

Form and content as an indivisible whole.
A corporate identity does not mean uniformity, but it must be clearly recognizable if it is to be conveyed. Thus for the Club media, too, BMW stipulates standards that reflect the quality of the marque – not by laying down the law, but rather by striving for a harmonious and persuasive
fusion of form and content.

The three fundamental demands made on the BMW Club media are:
Reflection of BMW brand values in form and content;
Maintaining design standards which do justice to the BMW brand;
Proper use of the BMW name and emblem.

True partnership is what it’s all about.

For BMW, the Clubs play an important role as multipliers and brand supporters. They are respected by the company as associates in a fair partnership from which both sides benefit.

What the BMW Clubs do for the BMW brand:
They act as ambassadors through their active representation of BMW brand values.
They cultivate BMW products and traditions.
They promote the BMW brand by gauging customer opinions and passing them on.
They are loyal customers.

What BMW AG does for the BMW Clubs:
It keeps them informed and remains in constant communication.
It assists in matters of organization and design.
It maintains the international BMW Club Secretary’s Office.
It promotes training courses and Club activities.

The Club Charter

The charter includes a few essentials for every BMW Club if it is to be integrated in the
international BMW world. The fundamental requirements are:

• Conveying BMW’s company profile correctly and clearly. Since any conclusions the public
draws from the club’s image are traced back to the company, every member and every
individual club member endeavors to emphasize concepts which typify the BMW brand
through their own actions and in dialogue as effectively as possible

• Outstanding condition and perfect presentation of vehicles – technical competence and
successful expertise; clearly and visually conveys technical expertise.

• Use of vehicles in a disciplined and responsible manner both on the road and at events – behavior imbued with a spirit of partnership, genuine sportsmanship, fairness and tolerance.

• Arranging a wide variety of events – bring BMW drivers together and promote tourist, motor sport and social activities, with technical, cultural and social topics.

Club Charter Structure

Club objective
• Does not seek to make profit
• Does not pursue any economic goals
• Sole purpose is to provide members with the opportunity:
• to obtain advice on all technological, economic (relating to vehicles) and travel matters
• to exchange knowledge and to organize various kinds of leisure events
• Cooperate with other BMW associations, BMW, accessories industry and authorities and institutions responsible for road traffic and motorization

Requirements for membership
• BMW owners
• Others interested in the marquee
• Others committed to the Club’s purpose and objective
• Those who want to partake fully in the rights and obligations of members
