Easy to maintain and parts ( also performance parts) readily available. Also test drive the 325i(high reving), 325e(low reving, high torque) and 318i (frugal) then decide which "flavor" you want.

Default e30 320i

I guess everything boils down to know the history of the car when your buying....you can be at peace if the owner is a car enthusiast which you can ask directly what are the things that had been replaced or need to be replaced...E30s can easily be maintained and be a daily driver to you if its well pampered...Its BMW so you need to take a little pampering...hehehe........I know it coz my e30 had served me for such a long time and its still in very much tiptop condition....
Parts can be ordered at BASICS and even on the club where one of the enthusiast imports parts and accessories on a per order basis which is reasonably priced...and to top it all...once your drivin' an E30 whether it be an M3, 325, 320 etc...as long as the parts and accessories you put is ERA correct...Damn your e30 will be turnin' heads...

easy to maintain? yes! not much electronics on this car and it shares several parts from M20 5ers so spares are not too hard to come buy used and brand new ones are always available through basics or Mark168.

I believe all E30 owners will agree with me on this... What makes E30 ownership enjoyable is the fact that besides the rewarding driving experience, maintaining and searching for parts is actually a major part of the fun factor.

I have to agree with Patrick. Easy to maintain. Come to think of it, the quest to look for parts and mods is what makes this era quite interesting. Not too hard to find stuff, not too dependent on electronics. Rides very well too.

You gotta have Mark168 and Derf Roa on speed dial if you own an E30.

After all mechanicals and electricals are done; you now think of aesthetic mods like:

a BBS wrap around bodykit

a big smile from a happy E30 owner
