ANNOUNCEMENT: Amendments to posting classified ads in BMWCCP Forum

In order to further protect the interest of BMW enthusiasts, visitors, club members and our club sponsors and to facilitate the sale of BMW-related items in this forum, the following amendments to posting classified ads will be implemented effective immediately:

1. Pictures of the item on sale
must be posted. Click here on instructions on how to post pictures. An alternative is to post a link to another site where pictures of the item can be seen. It is recommended to post a front, side, back, engine bay and interior shots of the vehicle as these are the most common requests of prospective buyers.

2. The price for the item/vehicle
must be posted.

3. That vehicles posted for sale
must declare whether papers are complete or not (i.e. taxes paid)

4. The seller
must respond to those who inquire within 48 hours.

should not be posted as a matter of courtesy. The 7 sponsors and their major products and/or services:

6. We allow the sale of BMW-related items that may be in conflict with our sponsor products and services,
for as long as it isn't for commercial purposes. It should be along the lines of disposing the personally owned item.

7. BMWCCP members may sell non-BMW items in the Flea Market section of the Member's Only Area.

8. Failure to observe the above guidelines will result in having the thread locked. Locked threads will remain accessible for reference unless the administrators deem it necessary to delete it if deemed inappropriate (e.g. offensive, misleading, non-BMW items, etc).

Default Spammers bearing gifts (virus)

Folks, just in case you get a message like this:

Important message from the forum administration!

Dear, mcpgl;black_mugen;gryfford;Hardright;jhakes!

A virus alert was noticed on your computer.
We highly recommend you to check your computer and perform online virus check at our site immediately: http://security-tool2010.com/mcpgl;b...rdright;jhaks
If you do not pass this test* we will have to delete your account and forward a complaint to your Internet provider.
----------------------------------------------------

Please don't click on the link. It will download a nasty piece of spyware. It took me almost 3 hours last night to remove the virus by downloading a free removal software call Superantispyware to remove it.

hbt, already did. Nasty stuff this Security Tool. Disables accessing your anti-virus software, disables the system task manager also. Only way is to boot in safe mode and run Superantispyware.

I made the stupid mistake of entering my credit card details to order the tool, quickly called Citi to block the card and requested for a new one to be issued. Should get my new card in 3-4 days.
